Psalm 133:1-3 (NKJV) 1  Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! 2  It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. 3  It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing-- Life forevermore.

Matthew 27:27-31 (NKJV) 27  Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him. 28  And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. 29  When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" 30  Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. 31  And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.

Mark 8:34-38 (NKJV) 34  When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. 36  For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38  For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5  I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6  If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7  If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8  By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

The Power of Praise
Psalm 34:1-12 (NKJV) 1  I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2  My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3  Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. 4  I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. 5  They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. 6  This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. 7  The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. 8  Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! 9  Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. 10  The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. 11  Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12  Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good?

Proverbs 31:10-31 (NKJV) 10  Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. 11  The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. 12  She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. 13  She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. 14  She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. 15  She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants. 16  She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. 17  She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms. 18  She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night. 19  She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle. 20  She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. 21  She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet. 22  She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23  Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land. 24  She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. 25  Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. 26  She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness. 27  She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. 28  Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: 29  "Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all." 30  Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. 31  Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.

1 Timothy 3:1-16  1  This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3  not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4  one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5  (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6  not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7  Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 8  Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9  holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10  But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. 11  Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12  Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13  For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. 14  These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; 15  but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

Series: Easter
John 20:1-31 (NKJV) 1  Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2  Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him." 3  Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. 4  So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. 5  And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. 6  Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7  and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself. 8  Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. 9  For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. 10  Then the disciples went away again to their own homes. 11  But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. 12  And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13  Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him." 14  Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15  Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?" She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, "Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away." 16  Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher). 17  Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.' " 18  Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her. 19  Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, "Peace be with you." 20  When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. 21  So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." 22  And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23  If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." 24  Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25  The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe." 26  And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, "Peace to you!" 27  Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing." 28  And Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!" 29  Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." 30  And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31  but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Luke 24:1-12  1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.' " 8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.

Luke 19:37-48 (NKJV) 37  Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38  saying: "'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" 39  And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples." 40  But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out." 41  Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, 42  saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43  For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, 44  and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation." 45  Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, 46  saying to them, "It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.' " 47  And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, 48  and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him.

Joshua 24:13-15 (NKJV) 13  'I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.' 14  "Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! 15  And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. Joshua 20:1-9 (NKJV) 1  The LORD also spoke to Joshua, saying, 2  "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'Appoint for yourselves cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you through Moses, 3  that the slayer who kills a person accidentally or unintentionally may flee there; and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood. 4  And when he flees to one of those cities, and stands at the entrance of the gate of the city, and declares his case in the hearing of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city as one of them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them. 5  Then if the avenger of blood pursues him, they shall not deliver the slayer into his hand, because he struck his neighbor unintentionally, but did not hate him beforehand. 6  And he shall dwell in that city until he stands before the congregation for judgment, and until the death of the one who is high priest in those days. Then the slayer may return and come to his own city and his own house, to the city from which he fled.' " 7  So they appointed Kedesh in Galilee, in the mountains of Naphtali, Shechem in the mountains of Ephraim, and Kirjath Arba (which is Hebron) in the mountains of Judah. 8  And on the other side of the Jordan, by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness on the plain, from the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead, from the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan, from the tribe of Manasseh. 9  These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel and for the stranger who dwelt among them, that whoever killed a person accidentally might flee there, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood until he stood before the congregation.

Joshua 17:12-18 (NKJV) 12  Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities, but the Canaanites were determined to dwell in that land. 13  And it happened, when the children of Israel grew strong, that they put the Canaanites to forced labor, but did not utterly drive them out. 14  Then the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, "Why have you given us only one lot and one share to inherit, since we are a great people, inasmuch as the LORD has blessed us until now?" 15  So Joshua answered them, "If you are a great people, then go up to the forest country and clear a place for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and the giants, since the mountains of Ephraim are too confined for you." 16  But the children of Joseph said, "The mountain country is not enough for us; and all the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are of Beth Shean and its towns and those who are of the Valley of Jezreel." 17  And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph--to Ephraim and Manasseh--saying, "You are a great people and have great power; you shall not have only one lot, 18  but the mountain country shall be yours. Although it is wooded, you shall cut it down, and its farthest extent shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots and are strong."

And they offered on it burnt offerings to the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings. 32 And there, in the presence of the children of Israel, he wrote on the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he had written. 33 Then all Israel, with their elders and officers and judges, stood on either side of the ark before the priests, the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, the stranger as well as he who was born among them. Half of them were in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should bless the people of Israel. 34 And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and the cursings, according to all that is written in the Book of the Law.
35 There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded which Joshua did not read before all the assembly of Israel, with the women, the little ones, and the strangers who were living among them.

So they brought out all her relatives and left them outside the camp of Israel. 24  But they burned the city and all that was in it with fire. Joshua 6:6-21 (NKJV) 6  Then Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said to them, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD." 7  And he said to the people, "Proceed, and march around the city, and let him who is armed advance before the ark of the LORD." 8  So it was, when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the LORD advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. 9  The armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard came after the ark, while the priests continued blowing the trumpets. 10  Now Joshua had commanded the people, saying, "You shall not shout or make any noise with your voice, nor shall a word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I say to you, 'Shout!' Then you shall shout." 11  So he had the ark of the LORD circle the city, going around it once. Then they came into the camp and lodged in the camp. 12  And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD. 13  Then seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually and blew with the trumpets. And the armed men went before them. But the rear guard came after the ark of the LORD, while the priests continued blowing the trumpets. 14  And the second day they marched around the city once and returned to the camp. So they did six days. 15  But it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day only they marched around the city seven times. 16  And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: "Shout, for the LORD has given you the city! 17  Now the city shall be doomed by the LORD to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. 18  And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. 19  But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are consecrated to the LORD; they shall come into the treasury of the LORD." 20  So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. 21  And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, ox and sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword.

Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.

God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

    Part 3 Changed
Joshua 2:1-7 (NKJV) 1  Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, "Go, view the land, especially Jericho." So they went, and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there. 2  And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, "Behold, men have come here tonight from the children of Israel to search out the country." 3  So the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, "Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered your house, for they have come to search out all the country." 4  Then the woman took the two men and hid them. So she said, "Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from. 5  And it happened as the gate was being shut, when it was dark, that the men went out. Where the men went I do not know; pursue them quickly, for you may overtake them." 6  (But she had brought them up to the roof and hidden them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof.) 7  Then the men pursued them by the road to the Jordan, to the fords. And as soon as those who pursued them had gone out, they shut the gate.

Psalm 22:1-9 (NKJV) 1 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? 2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent. 3 But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. 4 Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. 5 They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed. 6 But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people. 7 All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, 8 "He trusted in the LORD, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!"
9 But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother's breasts.

Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22  So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23  And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24  Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.' 25  But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26  And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.' 27  Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house, 28  for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.' 29  Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.' 30  And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' 31  But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' Matthew 18:21-35 (NKJV) 21  Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" 22  Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. 23  Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24  And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25  But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. 26  The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, 'Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.' 27  Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. 28  But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me what you owe!' 29  So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.' 30  And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. 31  So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. 32  Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33  Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?' 34  And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. 35  So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses."

And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. 15  And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16  and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. 17  So Jesus answered and said, "Were there not ten cleansed? Galatians 1:6-12 (NKJV) 6  I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7  which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8  But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9  As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. 10  For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. 11  But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12  For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

What About Salvation
Series: What About
Romans 10:1-13 (NKJV) 1  Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2  For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3  For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 5  For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, "The man who does those things shall live by them." 6  But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?' " (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7  or, " 'Who will descend into the abyss?' " (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8  But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9  that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11  For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." 12  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13  For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."

Genesis 39:1-4 (NKJV)  1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there.  2 The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.  3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to prosper in his hand. 4 So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.

Acts 9:17-22 (NKJV) 17  And Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit." 18  Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized. 19  So when he had received food, he was strengthened. Then Saul spent some days with the disciples at Damascus. 20  Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. 21  Then all who heard were amazed, and said, "Is this not he who destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?" 22  But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ.

Acts 9:1-6 (NKJV) 1  Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2  and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3  As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4  Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" 5  And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads." 6  So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."

Acts 8:26-40 (NKJV) 26  Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, "Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." This is desert. 27  So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, 28  was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. 29  Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go near and overtake this chariot." 30  So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" 31  And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32  The place in the Scripture which he read was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 33  In His humiliation His justice was taken away, And who will declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth." 34  So the eunuch answered Philip and said, "I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?" 35  Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him. 36  Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, "See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?" 37  Then Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." 38  So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39  Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. 40  But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch, 6  whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them. 7  Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.

And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." 5  Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. 6  And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. 7  Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. 8  And Peter answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?" She said, "Yes, for so much." 9  Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." 10  Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. 11  So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.

For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." 3  When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4  And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. 5  So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: 6  'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.' " 7  Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8  And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also." 9  When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10  When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11  And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12  Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.

Luke 1:39-56 (NKJV) 39  Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, 40  and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. 41  And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42  Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43  But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44  For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45  Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord." 46  And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, 47  And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. 48  For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. 49  For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. 50  And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. 51  He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52  He has put down the mighty from their thrones, And exalted the lowly. 53  He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. 54  He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, 55  As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever." 56  And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house.

Only the silver and gold, and the vessels of bronze and iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD. 25  And Joshua spared Rahab the harlot, her father's household, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho. 26  Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying, "Cursed be the man before the LORD who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates." 27  So the LORD was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout all the country.

Then you shall shout." 11  So he had the ark of the LORD circle the city, going around it once.

Joshua 5:13-15 (NKJV) 13  And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, "Are You for us or for our adversaries?" 14  So He said, "No, but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my Lord say to His servant?" 15  Then the Commander of the LORD'S army said to Joshua, "Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy." And Joshua did so.

Joshua 5:10-12 (NKJV) 10  Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho. 11  And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day. 12 Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.

Joshua 5:1-9 (NKJV) 1  So it was, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, that their heart melted; and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the children of Israel. 2  At that time the LORD said to Joshua, "Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time." 3  So Joshua made flint knives for himself, and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins. 4  And this is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they had come out of Egypt. 5  For all the people who came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness, on the way as they came out of Egypt, had not been circumcised. 6  For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people who were men of war, who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of the LORD--to whom the LORD swore that He would not show them the land which the LORD had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, "a land flowing with milk and honey." 7  Then Joshua circumcised their sons whom He raised up in their place; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not been circumcised on the way. 8  So it was, when they had finished circumcising all the people, that they stayed in their places in the camp till they were healed. 9  Then the LORD said to Joshua, "This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you." Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.

Joshua 3:11-17 (NKJV) 11  Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is crossing over before you into the Jordan. 12  Now therefore, take for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man from every tribe. 13  And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap." 14  So it was, when the people set out from their camp to cross over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people, 15  and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest), 16  that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho. 17  Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.

Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before." 5  And Joshua said to the people, "Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you."

And whoever is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him. 20 And if you tell this business of ours, then we will be free from your oath which you made us swear." 21 Then she said, "According to your words, so be it." So they went, and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there.
